The Trek Dual Sport range bikes are hybrid bikes are the most versatile and enjoyable bikes to ride. The 2021 Dual Sport 1, 2, and 3 have undergone some upgrades in 2022. The most significant upgrade has been an overhaul of their entire drivetrain. The 2022 Dual sport 1 now has a simplified 2x8 drivetrain with 16 speeds with fewer issues, while Dual sport 2 has a 2x9 drivetrain with 18 speeds and Dual sport 3 has a 1x10 drivetrain with one gear in front. All the bikes also have an upgraded crankset, a rear hub upgrade, and a color upgrade.

The 2021 Dual sport 1 had a 3x9 drivetrain with 21 speeds that were upgraded in 2022 to the simpler 2x8 drivetrain with 16 speeds. The Dual sport 2 3x8 drivetrain with 24 speeds was upgraded to the 2x9 drivetrain with 18 speeds. The Dual sport 3 was upgraded from the 2x9 drivetrain to the 1x10 drivetrain. The Dual Sport bikes have also seen upgrades in their crankset and cassette and replacements of their front and rear derailleurs for a smoother ride.
All the 2021 Dual sport bikes had 2 colors, but the 2021 models now come in 3 colors that are more vibrant and attractive which caters to more diverse groups of riders.
The 2021 Dual sports bikes have seen a slight change in their weight with the 2022 models shedding a bit of weight to make them lighter thanks to the lighter components.
Although there’s a slight increase in their prices, the upgrades in the 2022 bike models make them better bikes that are worth your money.
