That’s why many people resort to burning it with charcoal, which in my opinion, is a better option as there is no professional equipment and manual labor involved. For this, all you need is a drill, charcoal, and vegetable oil, and you can get rid of it conveniently.

6 Easy Steps To Burn A Tree Stump With Charcoal

These are the steps that you need to follow in order to burn a tree stump using charcoal:

1. Dig Around 

Use a shovel and dig around the tree stump as deep as possible. This will allow you to expose the tree roots so that the tree stump burns away entirely.   

2. Drill Holes On The Tree Stump 

Next, use a power drill to make holes on the top of the tree stump. Be sure to make as many holes as you can so that it becomes easier for the stump to soak up the vegetable oil and get burned.   

3. Use Vegetable Oil 

Now, fetch a bottle of vegetable oil and pour it into the holes you have just drilled and all over the stump. Also, it’s important to ensure that the oil reaches the exposed root. Once done, let it soak overnight and come back the day after to repeat the process. 

I would suggest that you do this for at least three days on the bounce, as it will ensure that the tree stump is heavily soaked in the vegetable oil. 

4. Keep The Charcoal On The Stump 

In this step, you have to carry a bag of charcoal and put it on the tree stump. It’s not required to dump the charcoal on it; just placing the bag will suffice. Make sure you keep some extra charcoal handy and use it to fill up the space around the tree stump over the exposed roots. 

5. Light Up The Pile 

Now, it’s time for you to light up the whole thing. But before doing that, make sure there are no flammable objects nearby as they might get in the way and create a bigger fire than you had expected. Also, it would be a great idea to wet the surrounding area and keep a fire extinguisher handy to prevent any accidents. 

6. Clean Up 

After the tree stump has burned out completely, you need to dig up the burnt roots with a shovel and clean up the mess.
