I recommend using a TAB attachment if you’re trying to make a treehouse because this minimizes damage to the tree. Moreover, I also advocate using galvanized and stainless steel nails for greater protection.

The final thing to keep in mind is that you have to be careful about the number of holes you’re digging into the tree. Trees are living beings and need time to heal, so you should be mindful of inserting anything in them that might impede the healing process.
What If I Want To Kill A Tree By Drilling It?
Step 1
Take a 10 mm drill bit and angle it at 45 degrees to the tree trunk about 12 inches from the ground. Now, drill a hole about 1 inch deep.
Step 2
Repeat this process on the other side, and then make a set of 2-inch holes beneath these.
Step 3
Pour some diluted herbicide into the holes using a garden sprayer. It will now take about six months for the tree to die.
