An Overview Of Echo Lawn Products

If there’s a lawn, then maintaining it is a mandatory affair!

Even if you’re a first-time lawn owner, you’d probably know the importance of quality lawn care tools and products for the purpose. But with so many brands to choose from, finding the right tools can be challenging.

My experience with lawn equipment has introduced me to some of the best brands in lawn care. And today, I’ll talk about one such name.

Hi! I’m Stacy, and today, I have an overview of Echo Lawn Products, complete with the brand history, the products, and its quality standards. So, let’s begin!

Overview Of Echo Lawn Products

A Brief History Of Echo

The origin of Echo Incorporated goes back to 1972 when the company was founded at Northbrook (Illinois), under the name Kioritz Corporation of America. It started out as an importer for the Kioritz Corporation of Japan (as the largest subsidiary of Japan-based Yamabiko corporation), bringing high-performance 2-cycle engines and other hand-held tools into the North American markets.

Six years later, in 1978, the company was re-established under its present name. And in 1979, Echo ventured into engineering and manufacturing different equipment. For this, the company initiated its production and assembly operations in Wheeling, Illinois. The first lawn care product designed and launched in the US market was the GT-200 curved shaft grass trimmer.

As the business expanded, the company created Echo Power Equipment Canada as a subsidiary. In 1985, Echo shifted its manufacturing operations and built its present-day American headquarters in the Chicago suburb of Lake Zurich. To keep up with the increasing global demand, the company also constructed its first 100,000 sq. feet manufacturing unit in the same year.

The Continued Growth

After successfully building its first manufacturing facility, Echo Incorporated has continued to strengthen its hold on markets across the globe. In addition to selling its premium equipment through an extensive dealer network, Echo partnered with Home Depot in 1994 to provide its power tools, catering to the consumer market. This partnership has played a crucial role in enhancing the company’s market presence even further.

A milestone in the company’s journey came with its merger with Shindaiwa in 2009, a well-known leader in the field of outdoor power equipment and engine technologies. Its lightweight 2-stroke and distinct 2/4 stroke engine variations make the brand one of the best in the category.

Beyond that, it has completed the acquisition of multiple companies like Belrobotics and West Fargo. Then, there’s the North-Dakota-based Cary Industries, specializing in heavy-duty farming equipment for potato growers. It also owns the Phoenix and Arizona-based Kwik Products Incorporated, which manufactures trimmer heads and different accessories.

Other than that, Echo has added several corporate offices and manufacturing units over the years. With its recently added corporate office building in 2017, the total area under the Echo campus stands at around 588,000 sq.feet, including manufacturing and warehouse institutions.

What Products Does The Brand Manufacture?

As I have already mentioned above, the company started with 2-stroke engine tools to meet the growing consumer demands. And through the years, it has put in a lot of effort towards further market research and engineering developments to manufacture top-notch power tools. A lot of these products are manufactured in the United States from both foreign and domestic components.

Whether you’re a novice or pro in lawn care, Echo has got you covered with its diverse range of lawn maintenance tools. It manufactures practically everything, be it blowers, brushcutters, edgers, trimmers, wheeled trimmers, hedge trimmers, pruners, tillers/cultivators, shred n vacs, and chippers/shredders.

What I like the most about this brand is that it doesn’t restrict itself to only lawn care products. You will also find various other power and handheld tools for all your DIY projects, including chainsaws, cut-off saws, engine drills, generators or inverters, and pressure washers.

Not only that, but a lot of these tools are also available in cordless versions to suit different user requirements. Almost all of these tools are carefully engineered to meet the existing EPA emission regulations and CARB standards.

If you’re wary about the snow buildup in winters, then the Echo Snow Auger will help solve your problem. Likewise, it offers a complete firefighting package in the form of the brand’s Fire Pump. With the Pro Attachment series, you have the luxury of carrying multi-use tools at all times.

Lastly, the YOUCAN maintenance kits contain different parts and attachments so that users don’t have to rack their brains searching for compatible replacements for their Echo tools. There is a “store locator” option on the company’s official website, where you can easily find an authorized local dealer by entering the city and state or zip code.

Is Its Quality Worth The Price?

Although the brand has a foreign origin, it’s safe to say it has a sound reputation among residential and professional users in the States. During my research, I found that a lot of users have praised the utility and reliability of the trimmers, blowers, and edgers, as well as the multi-tool attachments.

The tools feature heavy-duty construction made from premium components for a rugged look-and-feel. At the same time, a majority of the tools are covered under a significant period of warranty.

Given their range of products and their performance, I’d say that Echo products are definitely worth considering, be it for gardening or other DIY projects.

Final Words

Undoubtedly, Echo Incorporated has come a long way, from working as a mere importing facility to manufacturing its own products.

For a brand that has been in the global market for more than four decades now, it speaks volumes about its quality standards and performance. Furthermore, its versatile range of tools offers something for both DIY lovers and true professionals.

On that note, it’s time for me to take your leave. I hope my efforts have helped you decide whether or not to invest in Echo products.

I will soon be back with more such content. So, till then, take care!
