This Magnesium Chloride ice melt has round pellets that work well with spreaders, allowing you to finish the job quickly. I found that spreading before a snowfall led to less accumulation and made my spread afterward more effective in
melting snow and ice. That way, you get to use fewer of the pellets and save some money.
The only thing that I did not like was that it was a bit corrosive on metal surfaces.
Green Gobbler ice melt is made to be relatively pet-safe. It lowers the water melting temperature to about -10°F, and although there are other ice melts that go lower, the trade-off is that this melt leaves no residue and is less corrosive to your concrete surfaces.
