If you have been using pressure washers for a while, you’ll know how important it is to keep the nozzles clean.
Not changing them often can affect the functionality of the device and make the spray function suffer. Moreover, a little care goes a long way in keeping the machine operating efficiently. And, changing the nozzle frequently is one such way to prevent problems in the future.
When it comes to cleaning the pressure washer, the nozzles are essential parts that need special attention. And, learning the correct way to remove and replace them is a fundamental skill that anyone should know.
The best way to take care of your pressure washer is by cleaning it from time to time. You also get the chance to check for damaged, incorrectly placed parts and things that may need repair while cleaning.
Here is a stepwise guide to changing the nozzle of the pressure washer-
1. Remove The Brass Collar
First of all, turn the machine wand to one side and check where the brass collar is located. Place your thumb on one end and the index finger on the other and pull the brass collar down. Make sure not to touch the colored nozzle tip during the process.
2. What To Do If Nozzle Does Not Come Out
Ideally, the nozzle will pop off with gentle pressure. But, there may be some cases in which it gets stuck to the wand due to various reasons. One reason could be compression due to water pressure.
The very mechanism that allows the pressure washer to work well could jam the nozzle. To fix this, you can try to unscrew the part and gently pull it to see if it comes off. If some water is stuck in these parts, it will leak, releasing the pressure and loosening the nozzle.
In extreme cases, this might not work even if you pull on it. If this happens to you, do not hesitate to call the customer service number provided by the company. This is because forcing the nozzle out might break or damage parts which will be expensive to fix later on.
3. Attach New Nozzle
Now, you can clean and attach the same nozzle or select a new one based on your needs. To secure it in place, hold the wand firmly and screw it till it is firmly attached. At this point, you can also add extensions to water brooms or other attachments.
