If you get tired of trying to keep your shower doors clean, trust me, you aren't the only one.
A few months ago, I had the idea of remodeling my bathroom, and I found it to be an excellent opportunity to invest in a glass shower door. I thought that it would end my problem of having to clean the shower water spread across the bathroom floor.
Little did I know that I would soon be searching for a way to clean the hard water spots and soap scum from my dream shower doors. I had to find a way to clean it without delay, as letting it sit for a prolonged time might have caused permanent staining on the glass.
On my next trip to the supermarket, I tried to find a good glass cleaner. But, I was shocked to see the high prices, and on top of that, every item was laden with strong chemicals. Thankfully, the girl at the store gave me the idea of cleaning the shower doors with plain white vinegar, and I was quite surprised to see the fantastic results.

Things required:
Once I started using white vinegar to clean my shower door, I realized that using it in the concentrated form gives the best result. To clean with this method, you only need to get a big bottle of white vinegar. I like to buy the gallon jars as I find them to be the most affordable option, and it helps me clean all around the house.
The first thing you'll need to do is microwave the vinegar for about 30 seconds. Make sure to take an appropriate amount of vinegar, based on the size of your shower door. Alternatively, you can also turn on your shower at the hottest setting and let the area get steamy.
Pour the heated or unheated vinegar into a spray bottle, and add three parts warm water. Now, shake the bottle to combine the vinegar with the water and proceed to spray the mixture on your shower door. Next, use the microfiber cloth to massage the mixture on the glass.
Let it sit on the surface for 15 minutes (you can use this time to clean your other bathroom fixtures). After the wait time is over, use your shower head to spray the door. Follow it up by using the squeegee to drag down the mixture from the top to the bottom of the door.
If you're happy with the results, use paper towels to soak the excess water present on the surface. When there's a lot of soap scum accumulated on a shower door, you may need to clean it a couple of times to get the best results. Also, if you have a sliding shower door, don't forget to apply the mixture and clean the tracks.

Like the previous method, you'll need to heat the vinegar in a microwave and pour it into the spray bottle. However, instead of water, this time, you have to add dish soap to make a soapy mixture. I like to add equal parts of soap and vinegar to get a potent solution that's great for removing hard water stains from my glass shower doors.
Before spraying the mixture, I make sure that the dish soap has blended well with the vinegar. After spraying it all over the shower door and its frame, I take my handy-dandy scrub brush to massage the solution into the stains. Yes, it does take a bit of elbow grease, but the outcome is worth it!
I let it sit for around 15-20 minutes after the scrubbing is over, and then rinse off the solution using tepid or slightly warm water. Next, I take my squeegee to wipe down the door from top to bottom. And, at times, I also like to wipe across the door's surface if I feel that there are stubborn spots.

A few weeks ago, while I wasn't at home, my husband had the brilliant idea of bathing our pets inside the shower enclosure! I came back to see my shower door covered in soap scum caused when the dogs tried to shake off the shampoo water. And, you can just imagine how far the soap might have reached.
Quick research on the internet gave me the idea that mixing baking soda with white vinegar may help to clean the thick scum spots. So, I warmed up the vinegar in my microwave, carefully added the baking soda into it and made a thick paste. But you shouldn’t stop just there!
Next, take a sponge to apply this paste all over the shower door. Make an effort to reach the farthest corners to remove as much scum as possible. You can also scrub in the mixture if there are any thick scum deposits.
Let the mixture sit on the shower door for 20 minutes, and then rinse it off with warm water. Finish cleaning it up with a squeegee to get rid of all the extra paste and water.
That’s everything I had to tell you about how to clean your shower doors with vinegar. Remember that you may need to clean the glass doors multiple times to wipe out all the hard water spots and soap scum.
