Few things can be more frustrating than discovering a tree on your property while trying to set up a new lawn.
Among all the popular removal methods, I find pulling out the tree or stump to be the least time-consuming. That's why I created this guide to answer the question, "how to pull a tree out with a truck?"
So, without further ado, let's get started!
1. Prepping The Tree
Well, it may seem like a simple idea to tie a rope around the tree trunk and yank it out of the ground. However, in reality, this can turn out to be fruitless, and you may even end up with a damaged truck. Hence, I find it better to prep the tree, making it easier to remove.
First of all, rather than pulling out the whole tree, I recommend cutting it down. So, you should keep cutting until you have a tree stump measuring around two to four feet for easy removal.
The next step would be to dig around the stump to loosen up the soil around the roots. You can even consider cutting some of the big roots to make the removal process easier.
2. Pulling Out The Tree
To be honest, the only things you need to pull out a tree would be a strong rope or chain and your truck. I prefer using a rope as it seems safer, but a chain might be required to remove larger tree stumps.
Start by tying one end of the rope or chain around the tree stump and the other end to the back of your truck. I like to tie the rope tightly to keep it from coming off during the initial pull.
Now, get into your truck and start driving forward, and remember not to be impatient while doing this as it may blow off the transmission of your truck. Instead, go slowly, and you should be able to remove the stump in no time.
If the tires start spinning, try reversing a bit before driving forward to pull out the stump. Do note that dead tree stumps may often break during the initial pull, so you need to tighten the rope or chain a couple of times before it's entirely uprooted.
That's everything I had to tell you about removing a tree using your truck. Even though the process sounds simple, it always takes me a couple of tries before I can yank out the tree completely.
Hence, remember to be patient and slow to remove it easily. Besides, before you remove a tree, try to find out about its disposal process. Setting fire to it might not be an option everywhere, so just make sure to be safe and abide by the local laws.
Until next time, goodbye, and take care!
