How To Replace Mobile Home Kitchen Cabinets
1. Look For Damages
If you have bought the house from someone, it is best to get professionals to find the worn-out areas. Check inside the cabinets to see if they are severely damaged. In case they are fine, you can only concentrate on the cabinet doors.
2. Measure And Plan Out
For replacing entire cabinets, you will have to take adequate measurements in the beginning. Draw out cabinets and divide the space properly so that there is ample area to store everything. Mobile homes are not very large. Hence, you will need all the storage space that you can get.
3. Construction
Once you have the design all chalked out, you can proceed with the replacement process. You can opt for a wooden frame door to the cabinet with glass in the middle. That way, the space will look bigger. While making the lower cabinets, you can add a lot of drawers, which should help keep all utensils separately.
Additionally, keep adequate space to store all the appliances. I will recommend keeping larger cabinets towards the top to keep bigger objects. Smaller objects like cutlery, knives, and bowls can be kept in the lower cabinets, making it easy to approach them.
Furthermore, invest in a nice backsplash and paint the cabinets contrasting colors. For example, if you use white or mint blue for the cabinets, you can go for a pastel-shaded or green backsplash.
You can then place a sink over the lower cabinets. Use the space right below the sink to keep cleaning essentials. I will suggest using solid wooden doors for the base cabinets as you would not want the broom and cleaning liquids to be visible.
Final Words
While making the cabinets, please remember not to touch the outer part of the mobile home at all, as it is best to keep a wooden base on the inside. You can then use it to connect all the other parts to this back wall.
Further, please remember that you have limited space; hence, the cabinets should not overpower the kitchen or make it feel bulky. Instead, opt for some open shelves and glass doors.
Also, if you have a low budget, there is no need to replace the cabinet interior. Just paint or replace the doors, and the entire kitchen design will change. That said, I’ll sign off for the day.
Take care!
