If you want to experience the authentic charcoal grill, look no further than the Weber original kettle grill. Below is a quick review and summary of its most important features.
The Weber Original Kettle Grill is a grilling enthusiast’s dream grill. I found it easy to move this grill around as it has relatively big wheels and is lightweight. It cooks quite well, producing great grills every time. It does not come with the fancy add-ons that some modern grills have, but it has what a good grill is supposed to have: a sizeable grate- since most of us grill for family and friends- and great temperature control. So, should you get one?

This charcoal grill is a traditional kettle grill with some modern conveniences. I liked that it keeps true to the basics such as the traditional kettle shape that allows it to do a good job of holding in heat, which makes it great at cooking food low and slow. We got excellent results when we made a side of salmon, the chicken cooked thru to the bone, and the leg of lamb we made last weekend was so juicy and succulent, we wondered why we had not got this grill before. It also has some modern conveniences such as the One-Touch cleaning system for hassle-free debris and ash cleaning.
What we liked;

- Easy to Clean
- Sturdy wheels

Features
Heat control and retention
The grill lid and bowl are porcelain-enameled, making them have heat retention and endurance properties for reliable temperature and uniform cooking. You can control the grill temperature without lifting the cover, by simply regulating the dampers. I particularly liked that to extinguish the coals, all I had to do was to close the dampers completely. The grill also allows you to position charcoal on the fuel grate for direct or indirect grilling.
Design
The kettle shape is a winning design for slow cooking grills. This grill has a 7.5 inches high lid coupled with a 363 square inches grill surface that lets the grill trap a lot of heat for cooking. We were able to grill 12 burgers in one go, with space to spare. Its plated steel cooking grate not only keeps heat for longer but also made cleaning a breeze. The angled lid hook is a convenience that allowed me to handily hang the lid on its side as I cooked. We found the heat shield to be a thoughtful design addition, that prevents the lid handle from getting too hot to handle.
Durability
The Weber original kettle grill cooking grate is made of plated steel, which not only retains heat but is also quite durable. The wheels too are sturdy and can conquer your garden terrain with ease. I am happy I had read what other users said about it, and because so far everything checks out, I am looking forward to having it for a long time, even with regular use.
Verdict: so, should you buy the Weber Original Kettle Grill?
Yes, you should. If you are looking for a patio or garden charcoal grill that gives your food authentic charcoal-fired flavors, the Weber original kettle grill will give you that. Where it lacks in terms of modern touches such as remote control and smart device integration, it makes up for with great cooking, and that at an affordable price.
Are there alternatives?
Yes, instead of this grill, you can get the Cuisinart CCG-290 Kettle Charcoal Grill, 18″
or the CUSIMAX Charcoal Grill BBQ Kettle which compares well in price and features.
