A Modern Bathroom That Looks and Feels Good

Modern bathrooms can consist of a lot of different elements, but aesthetics tends to be the key driving force when deciding on the right style. Modern bathroom designs are usually focused around achieving a sense of minimalism and having as much stainless steel elements as possible. Whether in the bath, shower, sink or toilet area, minimalism promotes a clean and organized look in the bathroom. A modern bathroom in white will usually include the smallest possible amount of shiny accessories and fixtures so that the space does not appear too cluttered.

White Color

A white colored bathroom will consist of a lot of stainless steel fixtures as well as wall and floor tiles in a lot of material including something like glass, ceramic or stone tiles. It will most likely be a very minimalistic design and so a lot of different design elements can be placed in the room to add a bit more excitement to the room. The use of different materials to name a few include: glass, metal, stone, ceramic or wood just to name a few.

It is usual to have white tiles on the walls in a bathroom and half way up the walls you will normally find a patterned tile that has a lot of of different color patterns featured. It is usually a good idea to consult a good interior designer when it comes to deciding on what kind of design is best suited for a modern bathroom.

Tiled Shower

Usually a majority of modern bathrooms will consist of a walk-in shower that has a large enclosure made of either glass or metal. This is where the shower tray is recessed into the wall clear for the presence of the shower head with a shower head that has spray patterns or temperature control. Modern bathrooms also tend to use straight sided shower curtains that separate from the wall, but still have a rod located on the wall below the curtain which is in the general vicinity of the shower head. This helps to create the practical aspect of the shower area and also provides a sense of the modern bathroom that is emulated from elsewhere in the room while creating a sleek and modern look.

Modern Sinks

A modern bathroom will have a clean look consisting of a lot of stainless steel throughout. However, silver, gold, beige, brown, black, baby blue and other colors can be used as modern color accents. They can be incorporated into the design by adding the accessories such as a silver colored shower pipe.

Modern Towels

A modern bathroom tends to incorporate as many different sustainable resources to help save the environment as they can. The most common materials to be used when designing and renovating a bathroom tends to be natural and recycled acrylic. Sustainability is so important now that a lot of urban cities are even installing sewage collection stations which are connected to toilets and showers thus making it easier for the people there to dispose of their waste.

Modern Toilets

Modern toilets are designed to be useful, practical and inexpensive. The idea is that with only a few changes and some simple fixtures the entire bathroom can be totally remodeled and redesigned with very little money spent. Typical updated designs on a modern toilet include:

  • tanks which focus on the use of several water efficient technology
  • bowl which can incorporate the use of ceramic or fiberglass
  • automatic removal of waste content
