Do Coach Shoes Run Small

One of my biggest fears is to have my new shoes digging into my feet. That’s because shoe bites are scary and can leave long-lasting scars!

Small shoes are of no use to anyone, and all you can do is decorate your shoe racks with them. You can also sell them off on social media at a discounted price if needed. But why would you buy something to sell almost immediately?

Coach has been one of my favorite brands for some time now, and I obviously wanted to get the right fit before purchasing a Coach pair.

I was discussing this with my husband when he told me all about shoe sizes. There are a number of things to be considered, as even shoes of the same size can have very different fits. Hence, you might have to go half a size higher for some brands or varieties.

He also told me that Coach shoes generally run slightly smaller, especially when it comes to sneakers, heels, and tennis shoes. But if you are purchasing boots, then they might be slightly bigger.

Hi! I am Stacy Smith, and today, I will share all my knowledge about this topic with you. So, keep reading if you are looking for an answer to do Coach shoes run small?

How To Find The Correct Foot Size?

1. Bring Out The Measuring Unit

While you might have the sizing guide of Coach, you might still have issues with the size if proper measurements are not taken. Hence, it is best to measure the length, arc length, and width of the feet before you compare them to the sizes mentioned in the guide.

Now, remember that your foot size may keep changing, so you’d want to take the measurements at least twice every year. And to do this at home, you can either use a measuring tool or a simple thread at home. In case of the latter, measure the foot and place the thread beside a scale to note down the measurements.

2. Visit A Physical Outlet

Nothing can be better than walking into an offline Coach store and checking the size and fit of your feet. While you may have the right measurements, the fit of the shoes may vary slightly with the kind of materials used. For example, you might need to go half a size above for some shoes.

In hindsight, I’d strongly recommend purchasing Coach shoes only from physical shoes instead of shopping online.

How To Ensure That Coach Shoes Do Not Run Small?

Here are some tips that will help you ensure that you get the fit right while at the store.

1. Wear Both The Shoes

Never try to judge the fit by wearing only one shoe, as this will invariably increase your chances of getting the fit wrong. Always put on both the shoes and then walk around for a while. Check the long mirrors and see how the shoes look from all angles. Keep in mind that the sides of the shoe should not feel like they are digging into your feet.

2. Go For A Slightly Bigger Size

If the shoe digs into your feet, then opt for a size at least ½-inch bigger or the immediate next size. This should provide some space for your feet to breathe. My husband always suggests wiggling the toes and seeing if you can do so comfortably. If you can, then you know that they are of the right size.

3. Wear Coach Shoes With Socks

If you prefer wearing socks regularly, then wear them with the shoes to see if it fits well. The insides of the shoes should be able to accommodate both the feet and the socks comfortably without clinging too tightly. However, if you do not wear socks, then you might need to purchase a smaller size.

4. Choose Comfort

Just like Cinderella’s slippers, the right Coach shoe should fit your feet perfectly and feel comfortable. Long story short, they should ideally not require to be broken in.

What If The Shoes Actually Run Small?

Coach is a reliable brand, which offers a convenient 30-day return policy. In case you have size issues, especially for online bought shoes, then just place a return request and ship them back. The company will offer you a full refund, or you can exchange them for a different size.

However, ensure that the shoes are not damaged beforehand, as the company may not be willing to take them back.

In case you are not able to return them or the 30-day window has passed, then you can try to wear the shoes with thick socks and see if that works. Another tip is to wear them often and walk around the house, which will slowly make shoes conform with the shape of your feet.

In this regard, I’d suggest wearing them in the evening. This is because my husband once told me that the feet tend to swell up a little in the evening. Hence, it’s the best time to make them fit better.

Moreover, you can apply direct heat to the shoes with a hairdryer, which should help them expand.

Final Words

That has brought me to the end of today’s guide.

But before I wrap up, I will quickly walk you through some other handy tips to get the fit right. Firstly, you can use shoe trees to help expand the shoes without much effort.

Other than that, you may take the shoes to a cobbler who can stretch the shoes without damaging the material. In both cases, keep an eye on the process to prevent any damages to the material or overall design.

I’ll now leave you to get to the fun part, which is shopping for shoes. And when you do, don’t forget to let me know about your experience in the comments section below.

Happy shopping!
