It is best to store them in a cool location where there is no moisture or humidity. The ideal temperature to store most grass seeds is 40 to 55 degrees F. So, a basement or a cellar might be an ideal location for the purpose, although some people also opt for refrigeration.
Furthermore, ensure that there is no direct exposure to sunlight in the area where the seeds are stored. Ideally, keep them in a mesh bag, as this allows adequate air circulation.
A good mesh bag will also prevent insects from entering it and damaging the seeds. Also, if you notice mold or fungi on the seeds, it is best to throw them away.
Place your grass seeds in water for 15 minutes and check if they float. If yes, they can still be used for germination.
