Having trouble capturing screenshots on your Asus laptop? Well, look no further. I’ve listed the 3 easiest methods to screenshot on Asus laptops.
Not everyone is up to date with the latest technology. Jacob, my friend, is one such person. Ask him anything about woodworking and the outdoors, and you won’t find a better guide than him. But, when it comes to anything related to computers or screens, he can’t tell one model from the other.
Last week, my husband and I were helping him share images of gardening tools with his brother. He was pretty fascinated by the different ways a screenshot could be captured. So, we ended up showing him all the methods we knew, and those are the same methods I’ve decided to share with you as well.
Hi! I’m Stacy Smith, and today I’ve curated a guide to help you take screenshots on your computer. So, let’s find out “How to screenshot on Asus laptop.” Without further ado, let’s get started.
How To Screenshot On Asus Laptop
There are several ways to take screenshots on your laptop, but I’m going to list out the 3 easiest ones. So browse through all the methods and settle with the one that suits you the most.
1. Screenshot On Asus Laptop Using PrintScreen Option
The answer to the easiest screenshot method is right in front of you! Actually, on your keyboard, to be precise. You will see a small key labeled “PrtScn,” which is short for PrintScreen. Using this button, you can capture a screenshot of the entire screen at a time. Let’s see how to use this method-
Screenshot Using “PrtScn” Button
A. Press PrintScreen Key
Like I said, pressing this button captures a snapshot of your entire screen, and all the content is saved to the clipboard. After this, you can paste this into any image editing tool where you can view or edit it. I usually paste the image on Microsoft Word and then crop then remove sections I don’t need.
Another way to take a screenshot is to press “Control” along with the “PrintScreen” key. It gives pretty much the same result and is an added step, so I don’t use it that often.
One thing you need to note is that pressing the PrintScreen does not automatically save the image on the laptop. You need to manually paste it somewhere instead of taking multiple screenshot images one after the other. If you do so, they’ll be lost, and you’ll need to save them again.
B. PrintScreen With Windows Key
Alternatively, if you want to save the screenshot directly to the laptop instead of the clipboard, press the Windows key with the “PrintScreen” key. This step does not require you to paste; it directly saves the image on the computer.
C. PrintScreen With Alt Key
Another way to screenshot something on the screen is by pressing the “Alt” and “PrintScreen” keys together. With this function, you can capture any shot on the laptop; however, this image will not get saved automatically.
Just like pressing the “PrintScreen” key on its own, the image gets copied to the clipboard, and you need to save it manually with software. Personally, I never use this method because it is far too cumbersome.
2. Screenshot On Asus Laptop Using Snipping Tool
You must have heard of the Snipping tool if you use Windows. It is essentially an in-built screenshot app that allows you to snap images on the screen easily. If you have the latest Windows installed, the same tool is called Snip&Sketch.
Start with clicking on the Windows key and type “Snipping Tool.” Since there is no shortcut, you’ll have to type it out every time you need to use this tool. Next, select and start the Snipping Tool from the search bar and then click on “New” on the top-left area of the page.
After this, you need to select the portion which needs to be saved. For this, click and drag the mouse to select the required area on the screen and then release the mouse button. Now, the only thing left to do is save the image in a folder to locate it quickly.
3. Screenshot On Asus Laptop Using Downloaded App
The Snipping Tool app is pretty good for saving quick information, but a dedicated app might be necessary if you need to share your images. In that aspect, the PrintScreen method and the Snipping tool method are limited and fairly basic.
If you are going to download an app for capturing screenshots, make sure they have the following features-
- Option to annotate (basic editing)
- Ability to capture specific areas
- Easy sharing of images via the app
- Ability to save screenshots to the gallery
Out of these features, all screenshot apps will have the features to capture specific areas of the image and basic editing like cropping. However, you need to check the sharing feature since that will save your time and energy from going to another app.
Another thing to check for is the easy saving of images from the app to your computer hard drive. It’s pretty bothersome if you have to paste and save pictures manually every time. An automatic saving feature will prove to be time-saving and convenient.
