How To Wind Worx Trimmer Line

Every gardener has a set of favorite tools that they love using to tend to the garden. A favorite among them is the Worx Trimmer.

I use this string trimmer ever so often, that one morning, I was surprised to find that it was not working as well as it usually would. After a quick Google search, I found out that the trimmer line needed to be wound with a new string.

And here is how I did it!

How To Wind Worx Trimmer Line

If you own a Worx String Trimmer, know that it is necessary to wind the line every once in a while to keep it functioning optimally. Of course, like many others, I didn’t know the proper technique of doing it. So, I Google searched “How to wind Worx trimmer line”, and this is what I found.

Step 1 - Learn More About The Tool

Before you begin feeding a new string, it is important to learn more about the Worx Trimmer. This battery-operated tool uses a 0.065″ diameter line. And since it works on a bump-feed system, it requires a new string every once in a while. Once you purchase the right string for the trimmer, feeding it becomes quite straightforward in a few simple steps.

Step 2 - Locate The Release Tabs

Locate the release tabs at the trimmer head side, which is placed at the edge of its shaft. Once you locate them, press them simultaneously to release the tabs.

Step 3 - Discard The Remaining String

Before you can wind a new string into the spool, ensure that you discard the remaining string. You will find the spool on the head of your trimmer. Now, grab it and pull gently to remove the remaining portion.

Step 4 - Divide And Feed The New String

The Worx trimmer string typically comes in a double helix pattern. Use a pair of scissors to cut the strings into two equal parts, then divide them so they are 25 feet long.

Next, place the topmost portion of the string at the end of the spool to begin feeding it. Keep feeding it by winding the spool till you are left with six inches of string that is left hanging. Locate its end and clasp the remaining portion around it.

Step 5 - Place The Second String

Locate the secondary spool hole and use the same method as mentioned above to feed the second string into it.

Step 6 - Slide The Spool Into The Shaft

Finally, slide the spool back into its original position on the shaft of the trimmer. Cover the spool and feed the string once again through the holes in the cover. After placing the cover back carefully, gently begin hauling the strings so they are released from the side.

Conclusion

And that is the simple process of winding a Worx trimmer line.

I hope this helps you with your gardening work. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out and I will try to answer them for you. That’s all I have for you today.

Until next time, happy gardening!
