Unlike other brands, Ryobi's string is only available in a few sizes. The Ryobi 100-string trimmer series uses a 0.060-inch twisted line with a 13-inch width size, while the Ryobi 132R and 137R require a 0.080-inch diameter line. How To Put The String On The Weed Eater
First, you need to determine the exact weed eater model you’re using, like the 105R, 132R, or 137R. Now, get a string that has the right diameter to perfectly fit with your string trimmer.
Place the string trimmer on a flat, clean surface and remove any spark plug or batteries to switch off the trimmer for added safety. Pull out the old line from the trimmer and dispose of it properly.
Now, using a scissor or a side cutter, cut two 10-inch and 15-inch diameters of 0.060 and 0.080-inch trimmer lines, respectively, depending on your model. Insert one end of the string line into the eyelet, and push it further until it reaches the center. You’ll find an eyelet on the sides of the trimmer head.
Turn the other end of the trimmer string to insert and push it further into the locking hole. To prevent any jams on the string, gently pull on the line extending away from the trimmer head.
Insert the second trimmer line into the eyelet of the opposite side of the trimmer head, and repeat the process by inserting it into the locking hole. When it reaches the end of the loading hole, pull it to remove any slack. And turn both the lines counterclockwise to load them onto the inner pool. Keep turning them until 5-6 inches of lines extend out of the trimmer head.

String trimmers come in four shapes: round, twisted, squared, and serrated, and their intended use determines their selection. For instance, round ones are the most basic string size type and are suitable for light duty tasks like cleaning grass and weeds in the yard. These trimmers are not durable and break down if used for cutting stubborn weeds.
Twisted ones are more durable than round ones and can handle more rough tasks than the former. The squared ones, as the name suggests, have four edges and cut through the root rather than trimming it. And lastly, the serrated trimmer line has sharpness similar to a serrated knife and makes a clean cut through the weeds.
