Will Vinegar Kill Spider Egg Sacs

Spiders can be a nuisance in your kitchen cupboards. So, the best way to get rid of them is to kill their egg sacs.

And the most popular natural product known to work against spider eggs is vinegar. But, the actual question is - will vinegar kill spider egg sacs

So, today, I'll talk all about the action of vinegar on spider eggs. Read on!

Can Vinegar Kill Spider Eggs?

Contrary to popular beliefs, not all kinds of vinegar are effective in killing spider eggs. The amount of acetic acid present in vinegar determines whether it will work against egg sacs or not.

As white vinegar has the highest acetic acid concentration, it's the best choice to kill spider eggs. Simply mix four ounces of white vinegar with two ounces of warm water and put the mixture in a spray bottle. Then, spray it on the spider eggs so that the vinegar can destroy the egg sacs.

How Does It Work?

Spider eggs are protected by a layer of silk that forms the egg sac. Once the sac is destroyed, it becomes quite easy to kill the unhatched spiders. The high acetic acid concentration of white vinegar helps dissolve this silk layer.

But, some spiders make thick egg sacs, which might take a bit longer for the vinegar solution to destroy. So, try to spray the white vinegar solution from a close range to enhance its efficiency in destroying the eggs and killing the spiderlings.

How To Use?

The best way to use white vinegar to kill spider eggs is by creating a solution that contains vinegar and warm water in a ratio of 2:1. Make sure to keep the amount of water less than vinegar to avoid diluting the solution. In that way, the vinegar solution will be more potent because of the higher acetic acid concentration.

Once you've prepared the solution, spray it directly on the eggs from a close range using a spray bottle. Don't forget to wear safety goggles, masks, and latex gloves to avoid skin burns from the acetic acid.

Moreover, the silk in the egg sac is slippery and cannot be dissolved using weak vinegar. So, only use powerful vinegar like white vinegar or 100% pure vinegar for making the solution as they contain higher concentrations of acetic acid than other types of vinegar.

Final Thoughts

If you're looking to get rid of spider eggs using a natural remedy, vinegar is the best solution. But, choosing the right vinegar type is important because all vinegar types are not equally potent against spider eggs.

After going through my article, I hope you have a better idea regarding how vinegar works to destroy spider egg sacs and which is the best vinegar to use against killing spider eggs. Just follow the simple instructions I've provided, and you'll be good to go.

So, take care and see you next time!
