If you have a single-line trimmer head with no bump feed, the first step is removing the spark plug wire from the weed eater. It will ensure safety during the disassembly and replacement procedure. 

Place the trimmer on its side, ensuring that the neck for filling gasoline points upward to prevent fuel spills. Then, insert your fingers in the upper grooves of the device head where the upper and lower head connect. Pushing the tabs in will allow you to lift off the upper section of the head easily.

Following that, use the locking pin in the gear housing that lies above the lower head for securing the gears in place. Once it is locked, turn the bottom part of the head counterclockwise to remove it from the trimmer.

Bump Feed With Replaceable Head

Dual Line Bump Feed 

If you have a Husqvarna bump feed dual-line string trimmer, you will have to follow a different process. First, you will need to press the tabs at the bottom of the trimmer head, while holding the spool housing with the other hand.

Then, lift the upper section of the housing, separating it from the lower section, and lift the spool line out of the lower part. Turn the lower section counterclockwise and remove it from the shaft of the trimmer.
