How To Start A Weed Eater With A Choke?

There are only two types of weed eaters on the market - gas-powered and electrical. No matter how experienced you are with weed eaters, turning on a new machine can still be a challenge.

So, if you have to trim grass or bushes in the lawn but don’t know how to start the machine, we’ve got your back. Here I’ve mentioned the crucial steps to turn on the weed eater and pull off your task.

How To Start A Cold Engine?

Step 1: First off, keep the weed eater on a flat surface, and look for the “start” or “stop” switch.

Step 2: Turn it away from “stop” and move the choke lever to the “cold start” position.

Step 3: You’ll have to pump gasoline into the engine with a purge bulb, so pump gasoline until you see it flowing in the fuel tank line.

Step 4: While the machine is lying on the flat surface, hold the throttle handle securely and push the trigger to its full extent.

Step 5: Next, haul the recoil starter rope gently until the engine starts. Note that the engine doesn’t start instantly and may take a few tries to fire up.

Step 6: Once the engine starts, turn the choke lever to the “run” option and press the throttle handle to an open position by holding it firmly.

Step 7: As soon as the engine starts running smoothly, let go of the throttle trigger and allow it to warm up for a few minutes.

Step 8:  Once the engine warms up, grasp the support handle and the throttle and depress it slowly, surging the engine RPM to operating speed.
