What Did We Like About It?

Scotts has established itself as a trustworthy brand and you can rely on all of its products. The Whirl hand-powered spreader does not disappoint either. Read on to know all the deets!

1. Versatile Functioning

Scotts’ tool is optimized for use on lawns of smaller dimensions. Not only does it make short work of weeds, seeds, and fertilizers, but it is also equally capable of spreading ice-melting agents in winters.

Furthermore, the spreader can be used for weed treatment and works well throughout the year. Needless to say, we were thoroughly impressed by how easily it accomplished the tasks in a time-efficient manner. Also, the results were just as impressive - even coverage every time!

2. Ergonomic Design

Unlike many of its competitors, Scotts’ handheld spreader is designed in a way that not only ensures a comfortable experience for the user but also makes the spreading process more effective and effortless.

Perhaps the most helpful feature of this garden tool is its adjustable arm. Optimized to provide maximum ease of operation, it offers support to the user and eliminates unnecessary strain on the muscles. Now that’s something truly impressive, isn't it?

3. Ease of Operation

Needless to say, a piece of equipment fitted with such features makes for a worthy addition to any garden. The Whirl spreader, along with design and functionality, also excels in terms of operational efficiency.

It can easily tackle up to 1,500 square feet of Scotts’ lawn products and does a fine job of maintaining small to medium-sized yards. Simple in use and offering a remarkable degree of maneuverability, it proves to be the ideal spreader for amateurs and professionals alike.

Last but not the least, it is a lightweight unit that is ready to use, thus saving the user all assembly-related hassles.

What Could Have Been Better?

Although it’s difficult to find a flaw in this excellent preader, it does have some shortcomings.

After considerable use, we found that the drop-down menu on the website did not clarify the ‘Whirl’ function in detail. As a result, it was unclear as to how effective it would be in the case of certain varieties of weeds, such as crabgrass.

In addition to that, customer support is another area Scotts could definitely look into. It was only after a number of emails that we received a response, which could be a major deal-breaker for some.

However, the brand does have a reputation for a reason. And simply for its functional capacity, the spreader remains a strong recommendation!
